压字机由两大部件组成，一个用 CNC 雕刻机雕刻的六边形滚筒和一个装满石英砂的沙盘。六边形滚筒的每一面上都刻有一句俗语（例 如：山外有山，人外有人）。第二部分为放置石英砂的沙槽。滚筒 由滑轨和机械臂控制。滚筒在石英砂上压出文字后会回到初始位置。 压出的文字将保留片刻，再被沙槽内的刮板抹去。随后滚筒升起回 到沙槽上方正中的位置，再压出下一个句子，以此周而复始。
The word press machine consists of two main components: a hexagonal drum carved with a CNC engraver and a sand tray filled with quartz sand. each side of the hexagonal drum is engraved with a common saying (E.G：“THERE ARE MOUNTAINS BEYOND MOUNTAINS, AND PEOPLE BEYOND PEOPLE”). the second component is a tank for placing quartz sand. the drum is controlled by a sliding rail and a mechanical arm. after the drum presses words into the quartz sand, it returns to its initial position. the pressed words remain for a moment before a scraper in the sand tray erases them. the drum then rises and returns to the center above the sand tray, pressing the next sentence in a continuous cycle.
