张培力,1957年生于杭州,1978年到1980年在浙江省人防工人建筑队做工人,1984年本科毕业于浙江美术学院(现中国美术学院)油画系,获学士学位,1984年至2000年先后任教于杭州工艺美术学校和杭州师范大学美术学院,2001年调入中国美术学院,2003年在中国美术学院创立新媒体系,2012年至2022年任OCAT上海馆执行馆长 ,现工作,生活于杭州。
张培力于1985、1986年组织并参与了“85新空间”展览及艺术家团体“池社”。《30×30》(1988)被认为是中国最早的录像艺术作品。
Zhang Peili was born in Hangzhou in 1957, worked as a laborer in the construction team of Zhejiang Province's Human Defense Workers from 1978 to 1980, graduated from the Oil Painting Department of the Zhejiang Academy of Fine Arts (now China Academy of Art) with a Bachelor's Degree in 1984, taught at the Hangzhou School of Arts and Crafts and the Academy of Fine Arts of Hangzhou Teacher's University from 1984 to 2000, transferred to the China Academy of Art in 2001, founded the New Media Department at the China Academy of Art in 2003, and was the Executive Director of OCAT Shanghai from 2012 to 2022. In 2001, he transferred to China Academy of Art, and in 2003, he founded the New Media Department at the China Academy of Art. From 2012 to 2022, he will be the Executive Director of the OCAT Shanghai Pavilion, and now he lives and works in Hangzhou.
In 1985 and 1986, Zhang Peili organized and participated in the exhibition “85 New Space” and the artist group “Ikisha”. 30×30 (1988) is considered the earliest video artwork in China.
